About the Author

Katie Dickson

How is it that the very people who poke our bruises are so oddly well-suited to comfort us?

I write short stories that explore how our siblings can anchor us—and unravel us. In my stories, you’ll meet imperfect characters who clash and cling, peeling back each other’s layers and testing the limits of their sibling bond.  I do like to snoop around in some dark corners in these stories. But you’ll find redemption, messy growth, and hope in the mix.

You can find my work published in literary journals like The Westchester ReviewThe Penn ReviewMidway Journal3Elements Literary Review, and The Coachella Review. My short story "A Matter of Weight" was nominated for Best of the Net 2017 and the New Stories from the Midwest Anthology 2018.

I'm at work on publishing a collection of these short stories called Thicker than Water, a deep dive into the power and perils of sibling loyalty.  I look forward to sharing it with you here.

Thank you for reading!
